Lingual Braces
How does treatment work?
Wire offers the advantage of aesthetics without the compromise and compliance required with aligners. The combined efficiencies of Straight Wire and passive self-ligation allows you to achieve the results you want at a pace that keeps your patients smiling. Each bracket is individually placed on your tooth in the most optimum position to help to achieve the desired result. With the ongoing innovations in technology now, lingual bracket system was designed for patient comfort and clinical performance. Rounded contours and a low profile provide comfort, and the small bracket design ensures optimal fit and ease of placement. Lingual brackets offer the advantage of aesthetics without the compromise and compliance required with aligners. A set of study models to show how your teeth are at the start is always taken, and we will complete a final set of models after completion to show the difference. A detailed x-ray is required in addition to ensure that the surrounding teeth are of sound health and require no treatment prior to commencement of orthodontics.
The next step is to take impressions (moulds) of your teeth, so we can send them off to the dental lab, where your unique lingual brace will be made, with your smile in mind. We will also take 3D images and X-rays of your smile, which will inform the design of your brace. As they’re custom-made, lingual braces offer a high level of comfort: each bracket is directly fitted to each individual tooth.
Once we receive your brace back from the lab, we’ll invite you back to the practice to have it fitted. Your teeth straightening journey can then begin and we’ll invite you to visit us every few months to monitor your progress.
